Over the past decade, there has been a meteoric evolution in the heart and vascular sciences. For the interventional cardiologist, the rapid pace at which new technologies have developed requires greater emphasis on continuing education and the cultivation of new techniques.
Now in its ninth year, the 2013 Scottsdale Interventional Forum has been designed specifically to meet the educational needs of those who treat patients afflicted with cardiovascular disease. As in previous years, SIF 2013 will emphasize case based exposure to the latest technologies and a comprehensive, up-to-date review of the most recent published literature. There is no better way to achieve this than didactic lectures presented by a world class faculty and the presentation of complex interventional cases with energetic Q&A sessions hosted by the leading experts in the field.
Our objective is to thoroughly review unresolved issues in complex coronary artery disease including the latest technological advances in the treatment of CTO’s, bifurcation disease and complex left main disease. A practical “How To” workshop has been designed to offer useful tips and tricks on tackling the most complex coronary and vascular lesion subsets. A special afternoon symposium will address such critical issues as appropriate PCI use and those factors influencing the healthcare system.
A full-day will be devoted to the diagnosis and management of structural heart disease, emphasizing ground-breaking technologies such as transcatheter aortic valve therapies, percutaneous mitral valve repair, left atrial appendage therapeutics, PFO closure and renal denervation.
Multiple live cases will be transmitted from leading centers in the U.S. and Europe. These live cases will be enhanced by panel discussion and audience participation which are designed to reinforce the course material, providing a practical application of the didactic sessions.
In summary, the primary focus of the 2013 Scottsdale Interventional Forum is to provide a rich educational experience, interaction with a world class faculty, exposing participants to the latest cardiovascular technologies, against the background of America’s most unique venue.
We look forward to seeing you at SIF 2013!
Sincerely, SIF Symposium Directors
